Nedalco is committed to be one of the leading alcohol producers with regard to both sustainable enterprise and employee and environmental health and safety.
Nedalco’s vision of Safety, Health and the Environment
1. Nedalco endeavors to have 0 incidents by:
- Controlling the risks relating to (major) accidents
- Creating a safe, healthy and pleasant working environment for employees and others
- Focusing extra attention on health and safety at the Bergen op Zoom site in connection with its closure.
2. Nedalco creates the conditions for optimum health at work.

Nedalco’s environmental policy is founded on making efficient structural use of raw materials and energy and on carrying out activities in a manner that causes minimum harm to the environment.
1. Nedalco strives to reduce the effects of global warming by:
- Remaining in the top 10% worldwide with regard to energy efficiency
- Targeting 20% usage of sustainable energy
- Fulfilling a leading role in the development of second-generation bioethanol.
2. Nedalco aims for 0 emissions in relation to:
- Air: with regard to Odor/Volatile Organic Substances/NOx/Particulate Matter
- (Waste) water
- Soil.
3. Nedalco is dedicated to realizing maximum reuse (closed circle) of co-products and waste materials (internal/external).
4. Nedalco aims to be a good neighbor by creating a situation in which:
- We are accepted and respected
- The neighborhood feels safe
- No complaints are made and no nuisance is caused.
