Nedalco receives TPM Award

Nedalco is pleased to be awarded with the Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment by JIPM.

Following a series of audits in 2009, the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) has awarded Nedalco with the Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment for the locations in Bergen op Zoom, Sas van Gent and Manchester. Nedalco already received the Award for TPM Excellence (2nd category).

The goal of TPM is to “Continuously improve all operational conditions, within a production system; by stimulating the daily awareness of all employees” (by Seiichi Nakajima, Japan, JIPM)

TPM identifies the 16 losses and then works systematically to eliminate them by making improvements. TPM has 8 pillars of activity each being set to achieve a “zero” target. These 8 pillars are the following: focussed improvement; autonomous maintenance; planned maintenance; training and education; early-phase management; quality maintenance; office TPM; and safety, health, and environment.

Ger Bemer, Managing Director of Nedalco, states: “I believe it’s unthinkable that a manufacturing company is not using TPM and still survives. TPM is a real team effort and I therefore congratulate and thank all Nedalco employees for their dedication and contribution to TPM”.
